DESCRIPTION:
This listing is for a Royal Doulton character SMALL jug: Tony Weller, D5530. It was issued 1936-1960. The figurine does have crazing and measures 3 1/4" H. There are places on top rim where paint looks like it wasn't covered completely. It is under the coating. The box is NOT included.
ABOUT TONY WELLER:
Character in the Pickwick Papers (novel) by writer Charles Dickens. He is Sam Weller's father, who is a totally irresponsible father, a quality his job as a coachman has helped to foster. He let his son Tony run the streets at an early age and had no share in his upbringing. He was a poor husband as well, letting his wife take up with an unsavory evangelist.
